Merch, Raffles & On-Site Sales
Selling shirts and raffle tickets sounds easy until you're missing two medium shirts, the cash box doesn't match, and nobody knows whether the winning ticket has to be present.
Keep the choices simple. Post the prices, put one person in charge of inventory, and write down the raffle rules before you sell the first ticket. Also check your local raffle laws. Calling it a “drawing” doesn't magically make the rules go away.
Order around realistic demand, not the thrill of seeing a large logo wall. Limited designs and a conservative size mix are easier to count, display, and carry forward. Establish who may discount an item, replace damaged stock, or comp a guest, and record those decisions rather than explaining missing inventory later.
For drawings, publish eligibility, price, closing time, selection method, notification process, and any presence requirement. Verify permits and charitable-gaming rules with the appropriate local authority. At close, two people should count cash and remaining stock, compare card activity, and document prizes released.
