Awards Owners Actually Care About

Car owners know when an award means something, and they know when you ordered fifty trophies just so everybody could take one home. More awards don't automatically make a better show.

Use classes people understand, tell them how judging works, and double-check the winners before anybody grabs the microphone. If you can explain why a trophy exists and how somebody wins it, you're probably on solid ground.

Make assignment boring—in a good way

Before the ceremony, have two authorized people review every trophy, winner, vehicle number, pronunciation, and duplicate-award exception. Freeze changes while the final list is printed. Digital assignment can shorten the tally, but the ceremony should never be the first time a human checks the result.
