Amenities that Keep People Happy

People may come for the cars, but they'll remember standing in a restroom line with no shade. They'll remember whether they could find water, sit down for a few minutes, or get a stroller across the showfield.

You don't need fancy amenities. You need enough clean restrooms, obvious water stations, places to sit, and routes people can actually use. Walk the grounds like you're bringing your kids, your parents, or somebody who uses a wheelchair. You'll spot problems a site map won't show you.

The most revealing walk-through happens at the busiest expected hour. Where will the restroom queue go? Is the water station visible, or hidden behind a vendor? Does the seating overlook something interesting? Can a person using a wheelchair reach the same areas without being sent around the perimeter? Those questions turn “we have restrooms and water” into an actual guest experience.

Service matters as much as placement. Assign someone to check supplies, trash, water, and first-aid readiness throughout the day. Put a phone number or command-post location where vendors and staff can report a problem. Guests should not have to find the event director because a dispenser is empty.
