Ghibli spyder

Named after a dry wind blowing over the Sahara desert, the Maserati Ghibli was the mastermind of Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, which at the time was only 28 years old. Shown initially in coupe form during the 1966 Turin auto show, the Ghibli broke many design traditions. The body is very low with a massive windshield sloped at a very steep angle. The engine is a dry sump V8 with four overhead cams and four Weber carburetors.

A convertible (spyder) was first shown in 1968 and only 127 cars were manufactured by the time production ended in 1973. Ghiblis are great cars for the open road as they are fast and comfortable, plus very reliable for an exotic. This car has participated three times in the Pebble Beach Motoring Classic which is a 1,600 mile tour from Seattle to Monterey.
