Story
Watching the 1960 24 hr. Le Mans race on the television as a youngster I was excited to watch the three Conningham Corvettes, first time a Corvette entered this prestigiouss endurance race, competing with Ferrari, Aston Martin and Porsche. One of the Cunningham's Corvettes with a 283-cubic inch, fuel-injected V8 engine became part of racing history with a dramatic finish. After losing all its coolant, the team ingeniously packed ice around the engine to keep it running. This incredible effort secured Corvette's first-in-class victory and an impressive eitgth place overall.
My dream was to professionally restore, frame-off, this 1960 Corvette with a 283-cubic inch, fuel-injected V8 engine and relive the Le Mans' glorious victory. Featured at the Festivals of Speed this award winning Corvette also has a four speed manual transmission, positraction rear axle, Wonderbar AM/FM radio, power windows and convertible top.
