1957 289 V8 225 horsepower.  Studebaker introduced the Hawk series as a "family sport cars" to compete against the Chevy Corvette and Ford Thunderbird by adding a rear seat. The Silver Hawk and Golden Hawks were the most powerful and fastest American production cars in 1957.  Additionally, Studebaker led design with tail fins and a European front grill.
