The surprise of my life was when my dad sat me down and told me he was giving me his beloved Buick. We had good fun with it until he passed a couple of years ago, and never a trip out & about goes by without someone stopping me to comment on the car. Dad called it his 'model airplane' and had loads of fun with this car and with the BCAA club members and activities (local Dixie Chapter and nationally) for many years and won many awards.

Fun to note that while this car has been up for sale recently online, I was contacted by a TV show that wanted to rent it for filming an ad, and this will eventually air nationally to announce Season 4 of Tulsa King with Sylvester Stallone, on Paramount+ !

This car has been a work in progress since my [late] dad found it out back of a rural Tennessee mechanic's shop in 1985 while he was out selling clay and talc and the different minerals used by paint, paper, and glass factories that he would visit on his sales calls all over the Deep South for a mining company. He used to take each of his six kids with him for a weekly road trip every summer and I have great memories of that time alone with him ~ time I didn't experience again until I got to come back here to be his caregiver over the last few years. And then when he retired, he had my late brother build a second garage, so he'd have a place to paint it... and financed all that by spending 20 'retirement' years working full-time in the paint department at the Cumming branch Home Depot... until he retired for real at 91!
