🔧 A Car Built with Heart—and Hands

In 1957, Harry E. “Fuzz” Jones, a lifelong GM employee, ordered this exact Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday Coupe directly from the factory floor. As an employee of General Motors, he personally walked this car down the assembly line as it was being built—handpicking every detail, including the now rare J2 Rocket engine.

Only about 2% of Oldsmobiles that year came equipped with the J2 option—a high-performance package that included:

• 371 cubic inch Rocket V8
• Three two-barrel Rochester carburetors (Tri-Power)
• 300 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque
• $83 factory upgrade in 1957

Paired with a Jetaway Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission, this car could go 0–60 in under 9 seconds—impressive even by today’s standards.

❤️ A Love Story on Wheels

This car isn’t just a classic—it’s part of a family legacy. My father took my mother, Delores Jones, on their first dates in this very car. They cruised the quiet roads of Carl, Georgia, falling in love to the sound of dual exhaust and rock ‘n roll. My dad was known around the area as a true “car guy,” always having something fast in the driveway.

To this day, my mother tears up every time she sees it.

🕰️ Time Stood Still

The car was last tagged in 1970, and parked soon after in the basement of our family home in Carl, GA. I was born two years later, and never saw it run—only heard the stories growing up. It sat in storage for over 50 years, a sleeping legend.

When my father passed in December 2023, I began a mission to bring it back to life.

🔧 Restored With Purpose

Restoration began in September 2023, shortly after my father’s passing, and was completed in April 2025. Every detail was restored with care and precision to match the car as it was the day he drove it off the line.

This car is more than metal and paint. It’s a tribute to my father, my family, and the timeless stories tied to every mile it traveled.
