1939 Packard 120

This 1939 Packard 120 Convertible sedan has been meticulously restored to original condition.  It is powered by a 282 cubic inch, straight eight cylinder engine with factory rated 120 hp. It has a 3 speed column shift manual transmission with factory "Econo-drive" overdrive.  The exterior is finished in Packard Blue with new Navy convertible top. All top irons are like new. The interior is correctly restored with tan leather.The original owner, Mrs. Mary Louise Walker of New York City owned the car until her passing in 1946 at which time it was willed to her butler,, Mr. Amandus Watts and his wife Selma.  They were also given property in Long Lake, New York which was later conveyed to the Boy Scouts of America.  Mr. Stuart Flack who surveyed this propoerty for the state of New York spotted the Packard and in 1973 purchased it with approximately 62,000 miles on the odometer. It was then sold to Universal Studios in 1989 and used as a display at the Spruce Goose/Queen Mary attraction in Long Beach, California.  Subsequently, Brad Rarig purchased the car and conmmissioned the ground up resoration.  Since it was purchased from the Rarig estate, it changed hands twice before being sold at the 2017 Auburn Spring auction, lot 3152.  The current owner purchased the car in 2024 from John Elliott who was the successful bidder.
