Story

AMC AMX two seat car was produced between 1968 and 1970 with total production under 20,000 units.  1970 model saw changes to front grill, rear tail lights, dash, seats, front suspension and the addition of functional ram air.  At 4116 units produced in 1970 it is by far the most rare, and considered the most desirable AMX model. This car had a feature restoration story in Hagerty Muscle Machines magazine in September 2022.  I purchased this car in 1996 after seeing it in a classified ad for $350.00, with total restoration needed.  I did the bulk of the restoration myself with a lot of help from friends.   This car has correct 1970 AMC 390 engine and 4 speed transmission.  As the car sits it could have been purchased in 1970 from an AMC dealer.  The color is 1970 AMC Big Bad Green.  The black hood, tops of front fenders, and engine compartment is a dealer option called the Shadowmask and is original to this car.  Sidewinder exhaust was AMC dealer installed option.  Rear louvers were an after maket add on not manufactured by AMC but common for the time and was purchased in the mid 70's.  Everything works including factory 8 Track with AM radio.  This car is very unique garnering loads of attention at car shows.  I have been asked by a sponsor at the 2026 Hilton Head Coucourse d'Elegance and Motoring Festival to show the AMX at that event.  I would very much like to show it in my current home state of Georgia.
