Sunset Sally

I spent nearly two years searching for the right Mustang GT California Special convertible before finally finding this one — a beautiful, one-owner car in Michigan.

Getting her home became one of the best parts of the story. My dad and I made an adventure out of the trip, taking the ferry across Lake Michigan and hauling the Mustang home on a U-Haul trailer. I had been searching for the car for two years, but that trip with my dad is what made finding her truly special.

This is my second Mustang, but this one will always mean more because of the memories attached to it.

Today, “Sunset Sally” is not a car that spends her life sitting in the garage. I love taking her to weekend car shows and, even more, sharing her with my family. Some of my favorite moments are putting the top down and taking the girls for a ride while they laugh and watch their hair blow in the wind.

I’ve always loved sunsets, and with her Competition Orange paint glowing in the evening light, Sunset Sally seemed like the perfect name.

For me, this Mustang represents what enjoying cars is really about — the adventure of finding them, the joy of driving them, and the memories we create with the people we love along the way.
