Story
This car was originally delivered by the Citizens Motor Car Company in Ohio on November 23, 1923, making it one of the earliest known surviving examples of the First Series Single Eight. It is a rare 4 passenger Coupe with a 3/4 seat and vanity in the back, and a small jump seat in the front passenger side that can be flipped up to access the rear seat.
My father purchased the car with a friend for $600 in Atlanta in 1966; in the early 1970s, he traded his interest in the car to his friend for interest in another car. After that, the car was stored in a chicken barn in NC for forty years until I bought the car back from my father's friend in 2015. My father and I subsequently did a complete frame-off restoration over the next two years.
The Packard was shown at the 2018 National Meet of the Packard Automobile Club and received a First Place Award; it was also shown at the Atlanta Concours in 2019 and was on display in the Savoy Automobile Museum as part of a Packard Exhibit in late 2024.
